Signs from the Universe

A dark grey morning, much like the one I captured in the above picture greeted me as I headed to teach class. It was threatening to rain, and actually did rain as we moved through our flow and challenged our minds and bodies. Practicing hot yoga while it is raining outside is actually pretty lovely.

I've been subbing for a favorite teacher of mine while he travels in India. Subbing for another teacher that has a following and a particular style can be a very insecure position for any teacher, even more so for a relatively new one like me.

I admitted in class today that last week I chose music that was more that teacher's style than my own. It was fine, but didn't feel like me. So this week, I picked my own music. It felt nice to hear songs that were meaningful to me as I led my group through my sequence.

I don't take pictures of my students during savasana [I don't think any teacher should, but that's a subject for another post] but today I wish I had. In the exact moment I began bringing my students out of savasana, the song on my playlist was "Here comes the sun" by the Beatles - and the sun came out!
Mere coincidence? Or small sign from the universe that affirmed being yourself is the best choice and everything is happening as it should?

You be the judge.
